Areas of Expertise & Interest
I have found that between the highs and lows of daily life, many people find themselves struggling with overwhelming feelings. I believe that we all attempt to manage life's daily struggles as best as we can, but sometimes our means of coping are not always effective or efficient. I can help you learn new ways to navigate and manage the difficult situations that you may be experiencing. Through an authentic, collaborative and empathic approach, we can come up with creative solutions that will allow you to feel more assertive, confident and relaxed.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Bachelor's degree in social work at the University of Iowa, and continued to earn my Master's degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis where I obtained a certificate in violence and injury prevention among children and adolescents. Post graduation, I spent many years in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, and families through various positions.
I specialize in working with life transitions, stress management, anxiety,
depression, relationships, behavioral struggles, and the pressures of day to day life. I have experience
working with families, children and adolescents, young adults, as well as individuals of all ages. I have found
that the one-on-one approach helps clients gain insight and skills that they can use for the rest of their lives. I use an eclectic range of therapies depending on the client's needs, and work collaboratively with each individual to devise a treatment plan to facilitate progress.
In my spare time I enjoy playing with my two dogs, reading, and baking.
