Treatment Philosophy

I understand and respect the courage it takes to attend therapy. My top priority is ensuring that my clients feel safe, comfortable, and listened to in our work together. I believe that no one knows you better than you know yourself, and there is a lot that you bring to the table in the therapeutic process. My role is to guide and assist, as well as praise you for all your efforts outside of our time together to improve your life.

I believe in the importance of my therapeutic approach meeting the needs of each individual client. I use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based practices. Through my practices I help my clients feel validated, understood, and respected, while also challenging them to make positive changes. It is important to me that we collaborate on the goals and outcomes of the therapeutic process in our work together.

Areas of Expertise & Interest

I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, adults, children, and families. I commonly work with issues such as anxiety, social anxiety, self-esteem, depression, family conflict, LGBTQ+ issues, communication, social issues for teens, trauma, and more. I appreciate working with adult clients in either processing the past, coping with the present, or bettering the future.

I thoroughly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults, to help them transition through difficult life periods and experiences. I believe in the importance of giving adolescents and children a voice, and a safe space to express themselves. I emphasize the importance of collaboratively working with parents, schools, and other providers when necessary to best help the client make progress. It is important to me to help children/adolescents be able to effectively communicate with their parents to better the relationship. In addition to providing parents with psychoeducation on their child’s struggles, and assisting them with effective parenting skills and tools.

In my spare time I enjoy game nights with family and friends, walks with my dog, and exercising. During our beautiful summers I enjoy swimming, going to the beach, and playing volleyball. On our chillier days I enjoy reading and watching sports.
