Treatment Philosophy

I believe that every person is fully capable of finding healing and growth within themselves. Often this can be done through therapy which provides tools and skills to facilitate lasting change. My philosophy for the therapeutic relationship is to create a space that allows individuals or couples to feel safe, understood, and accepted.

Working towards a healthier self can be challenging. My goal is to walk with and empower you to utilize your strengths and resources.

  • I like to work with individuals and couples of various ages and backgrounds. I enjoy working with those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship conflicts. While there are several different methods of therapy, I believe in using an integrative approach by applying empirically supported treatment best suited for your needs. I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which I apply when working with individuals depending on their specific needs. I also have experience using Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method which I often apply when working with couples.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, going to movies or Broadway shows, and spending time with friends and family.

  • I completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling at Moody Theological Seminary. I completed my practicum and internship at MTS Counseling Center in Chicago, IL. During my internship, I worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and addiction. I also worked with couples to complete premarital counseling, marriage counseling, and various relationship conflicts.

After earning my Master's Degree I also worked towards post-graduate, focusing on marriage therapy through the Gottman Institute, completing my Level II Gottman training.

Besides my work with individual clients, I am passionate about working with couples and have been trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy through the Gottman Institute.
