Treatment Philosophy

As a therapist, I pride myself with working with clients to strengthen their own inner voice with practicing mindfulness and resilience. I believe in having a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients by demonstrating self compassion and building rapport all by humanizing this experience. My number one goal is to help empower clients in their therapeutic journey to their fullest potential.

The majority of my focus is strengthening clients' intuition as well as demonstrating compassion by increasing self awareness and restructuring their thoughts to create a strong foundation to grow as individuals. I believe the therapist should learn from their clients as well, by doing so, I integrate an approach that allows me to adjust my treatment goals and interventions to meet my clients needs.

  • I primarily work with young adults and adults struggling with trauma, life transitions, PTSD, anxiety/depression, stress management, ADHD management as well as relationship conflicts, self esteem, body image issues & work/life balance.

I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, but typically focus on Person Centered modalities, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution focused, and strength based approaches. Since there is not one approach that works best for all clients, I make sure I am meeting my client where they are and I align my modality to their presenting concern accordingly. As treatment needs do differ for each individual, I also support clients exploring alternative treatments, such as Psychedelic therapy or the Illinois Medical Card.

In my free time, I enjoy going for walks and have incorporated Pilates in my workouts. I also enjoy self care and playing with my cat Misia. In the summertime, I love to travel and visit hiking trails as well as national parks but cannot wait for the winter time, as I thoroughly enjoy the snow and all the activities the winter season has to offer. I am also fluent in the Polish language.

  • I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) soon to be a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I am board certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).

I have many years of experience in psychiatric hospitals working with individuals with primarily acute mental disorders, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, substance use as well as personality disorders. I have worked with many families and adolescents ages 12-17 years old in hospital settings as well. I have experience in group therapy and family therapy as well as community mental health agencies/resources for all our populations with mental health disorders. I am continuing to expand on my skill set and applying new techniques such as mindfulness, IFS therapy and exposure therapy.
